I just re-read the subject line of this email and had a chuckle. It sounds like you're about to dive into an incredibly boring and long-winded email, right? 😆 But this will be neither. (I hope.) Most people across North America lost an hour of sleep this weekend due to Daylight Saving Time. ⏰ For a lot of us—namely night owls and folks with kids, both of which I am—it's a tough shift in the sleep routine. I know I need to be getting in bed earlier, but I often can't fall asleep if I do, and then I wake up completely discombobulated for the rest of the week. Sometimes I try to read a really boring book in bed, or take a lavender-infused bath to calm my mind or turn off all devices several hours before I plan to turn in for the night, but there's another way to naturally induce sleep: Eating the right kind of food before bedtime. 🍌 Many fruits and vegetables contain small amounts of melatonin (and other sleep-promoting chemicals like tryptophan and magnesium), which help you settle down, fall asleep faster, and stay asleep longer. Seasonal TipsSpeaking of sleep, my favorite mattress brand, Avocado Green Mattress, is running a sale this month—up to 15% off select organic mattresses! No code is needed. I personally own and love my four Avocado mattresses: the Green Pillowtop, Green Standard, Eco Organic, and Eco Organic Kids mattress (which we use in the kids' bunk bed). Our oldest mattress (a king pillowtop) is going on 8+ years and still looks and feels like new; you can read my honest review of it here. (Avocado offers a 25-year warranty because their mattresses are made to last up to 25 years!) P.S. Can't sleep? Eating these 13 fruits and vegetables can help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. |
